Business & Career >> Professional Massage Therapy Training
Los Angeles Harbor College Extension is now offering a 500 Hour Massage Therapy Certification Program for Massage Therapy Students! In order to become a CMP (Certified Massage Practitioner) in California, you must complete 500 Hours of formal training in massage therapy and apply for State Certification. Students completing 500 Hours of Certification and meeting the eligibility requirements of the “National Certification for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork” exam may choose to apply to the NCBTMB under “Portfolio Review”. Students may also apply to California State and receive certification as a CMT (Certified Massage Therapist) after achieving 250 Hours of training. There is no time limit to complete your certification hours – you may finish as quickly or slowly as you like, depending on your schedule and goals. Classes are offered in segments, allowing students to add to their certification hours over a period of time. Most introductory classes require no previous training and are open for enrollment to all students seeking certification or community members who are interested in personal fulfillment classes.
